Theme ~ Railroad

Chosen by Tom.

Due to some major events--or rather, decisions--in our life yesterday and today, I've neglected my Headbanger friends...again.  I'm so sorry!  Here is my one railroad picture for this week's theme:

It was a great moment in a great week, that Thanksgiving week that Jacob came home from college by train.  We hadn't seen him in two months!  Of course, shortly after he was home, he and Thomas were wrestling in the dining room and he pushed Thomas' rear end through the dining room window.  But we were so glad to have him home!

Weekly Header Challenge -- Finished!

Theme ~ Finished!

Chosen by Kathy.

I feel so much better prepared for the Weekly Header Challenge this week!  Even though our family is experiencing multiple difficulties and challenges, I think I found a great photo to illustrate Kathy's theme for this week.  Here is is, in full format:

The game is finished and both teams celebrate together!

The Crusaders (our home team, in blue) played the Illinois School for the Deaf (the Tigers), and won a hard-fought game.  Both teams played with great heart, which was exhibited at game's end when both teams gathered for a pep talk by the Crusaders' head coach.  Then, all the players held up their helmets and celebrated together--the game is finished!  What a great show of sportsmanship.

Here's another shot from a wider angle, though I love the close-up with the camaraderie between the players.

Other things that are finished...

My garlic-lemon-rosemary chicken roaster is finished.  (It was delicious.)

Finished kebabs from the grill.  And finished in minutes by my hungry guys!

Thomas' baptism!  Old life finished--no looking back after this public declaration of faith in Jesus.

The tomatoes are finished--in cans as sauce.

Danny's haircut is finished.  He paid me for this one.

Alpha Omega math team finished 5th in state at the state finals tournament!

Jacob finished college!

If I play this game, I'm finished.  ;)

The finish of a summer day.

Weekly Header Challenge - E Pluribus Unum

Theme ~ E Pluribus Unum

Chosen by me.  :)

First, I apologize for my late posts!  Things have been busy since Danny started back to UIC, with car schedules, train schedules, school schedules, and a host of other issues that have recently cropped up.  I wish I could take more time to work on these posts, but my creative mind is rather shot right now--and it's my own theme, too!  I just sigh and tell myself to everything there is a season...

My header image is the second one below, of a one-mile run held before the Labor Day parade a few days ago in Naperville.  Out of many runners, one race.  I wanted to stay recent with the images I chose, and since I literally just uploaded these, I chose them.  Enjoy the race!

The pace car--er, motorcycle.  :)

My header image.

Friends race--I love that the young girls are running!

Another friend's daughter.

That's it for this week!
